Driver Observation in Car Simulators

Drivobs presentations at Measuring Behavior 2012 conference.

Driving simulators enable flexible, efficient, and safe testing of new driver assistance systems, infotainment systems, human machine interfaces, and vehicle dynamics control systems. Results are analysed using objective driving performance data recorded with the simulator combined with subjective driver evaluation of comfort, driving pleasure etc. Such traditional analyses often do not clarify how drivers use and adapt to new systems and innovative methods are needed to retrieve more insight into driving behaviour from simulator testing. Such new driver observation methods will be developed in this project.
